Rock CD cover design- Electric guitar cover art

Posted on 2 Jul, 2009 by Nando | A Reader have something to say

rock-cd-cover-design-chusss.jpg

This is the completed cd package design for a recent client- he was very happy with the design. I discussed the project with the client beforehand to make sure we were on the same page in terms of what kind of design he wanted, we also discussed his artistic goals for the cd design (how did he want to present himself to his fans). After our discussions I had a good grasp on the art direction and I had developed some ideas for the cover art. This client was particular about having an electric guitar on the cover design. He also wanted a design element on the cover the conveyed two worlds or two sides of a spectrum, because he had a collection of songs that were positive and jovial and he also had songs that were somber and pessimistic. Incredible Hulk Flexes it’s Blu-ray Muscle

Posted on 12 Jun, 2008 by admin | Be "The First" to say something

Blu-ray Incredible HulkThe upcoming Blu-Ray release of “The Incredible Hulk” will come jam-packed with additional footage - a total 70 minutes worth! The additional storage that Blu-Ray discs provide is a big plus for director Louis Leterrier:

So on the Blue-ray I’m trying to put as much of the stuff… I want to put everything we shot, you know? I’m not the kind of guy that likes to keep the stuff for myself. I’m like, okay you student filmmakers, here’s what I did right and here’s what I did wrong and in some of the stuff, in the 70 minutes, there’s some great stuff and there’s some really horrible stuff, but you’ll see it all, you know?

There will be over 3 hours of behind the scenes footage. The film itself weighs in at 107 minutes. And keep your eye out for a Caption America Easter Egg somewhere in the movie.

Best Buy Talks Up Print CD Sleeves

Posted on 5 Mar, 2008 by Brian | Be "The First" to say something

Best Buy VP Gary Arnold weighs in on ProPack CD sleeve packaging and music consumer trends in retail.

Big box retailers–Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, etc.–now have 65% of the market for printed music CDs, and downloads. Record stores, like bookstores, are a threatened species.

Downloads and iPod enthusiam notwithstanding, CDs still account for 85% of music sales. But CD sales have dropped 20%, challenging for printers of related packaging and liner notes. Industry leaders include Cinram, which took over the former Sony media production business; and MeadWestvaco’s AGIMedia.

Big retailers can no longer sell CDs at list prices of $15.99 and up, notes a report in the Wall St. Journal. Best Buy VP Gary Arnold tells the paper today that consumers think of CDs as $10 commodities. Recording studios should release no-frills packages for CDs following a “paperback book model” and more elaborate packages for die-hard fans.*
